Non-permanent graded-index waveguide-inscription in bulk chalcogenides

Abstract

Conventional waveguide-writing techniques in bulk chalcogenides rely on permanent photo-structural changes, which lead to ridge-like guiding channels. Here, we demonstrate non-permanent opto-thermally induced graded-index waveguides in As2Se3 glass.
