Adjoint Optimization for Automated Metasurface Mirror Design

Abstract

We apply adjoint optimization to automate the design of high-reflectivity metasurface mirrors for gaussian beams. Adjoint techniques reduce requisite computation time and power, as well as the need for a known starting structure.
