Low Jitter Measurement of Laser Linewidth using Brillouin Induced Self-Heterodyne Method

Abstract

We mathematically analyse and experimentally measure the linewidth of a DFB laser using Brillouin induced self-heterodyne method. We show that Brillouin induced self-heterodyne method reduces the jitter effect as compared to self-heterodyne method.
