Abstract

We propose an adiabatic following for a Vee, a Ladder and a Lambda quantum system. We illustrate different possibilities for population transfer in these multi-level quantum systems and we furthermore provide the recipe to create, in a controlled manner, 50:50 superpositions of the two Zeeman sublevels with a fixed relative phase in the letter-Vee coupling linkage.
