Abstract

In this paper we present a numerical assessment of the cross-talk (XT) effect coming from a 7-core multi-core erbium doped fiber amplifier (MC-EDFA) when used in the photonic beamforming system (PBS) proposed in [3]. It was observed that the distribution increases as path lengths get increasingly mismatched. In addition, the other identified source that enhances the XT between cores was the random phase intrinsic to each signal.
