Arbitrary and Reconfigurable Optics – New Opportunities for Integrated Photonics

Abstract

Recent understanding shows how to make universal linear components, beyond conventional optics. Fundamental consequences include new radiation laws. Practical integrated Mach-Zehnder meshes can be self-configured for arbitrary linear functions.
