Ultra-sensitive fiber sensors using structural slow light

Abstract

Slow-light fiber Bragg gratings exhibit very narrow resonances that can be used to fabricate sensors with unprecedented resolutions. Their principles of operation and properties will be illustrated with strain, temperature, and acoustic sensors.
