Single Crystals of L-alanine for Raman Laser

Abstract

The bulk single crystals of L-alanine with high optical quality have been grown by slow cooling of the aqueous solution. Pumped by a picosecond 532 nm laser source, a lasing from the first-order Raman shift at 633 nm is obtained.
