New Materials and Structures: Expanding the Properties of Optical Fibres

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The development of optical glasses and fibres with extended transmission and with novel emission characteristics will be described. Advances in optical fibre fabrication, new routes to introducing structure into the fibre cross-section, and a diverse range of new device architectures will be described.
