Plasmonic metasurfaces for the generation of optical orbital angular momentum

Abstract

We demonstrate the generation of optical orbital angular momentum at visible wavelengths through spin-to-orbit coupling in an ultrathin plasmonic metasurface. Such metasurfaces enable the efficient generation and control of structured light in compact geometries.
