Beam deflectometry for measuring two-dimensional refractive index profiles in rectangular gradient-index (GRIN) optical materials

Abstract

We present a numerical method for calculating two-dimensional index fields from measured boundary values of ray position and slope. Refractive index errors of <1% (RMS) of the total index range (nmaxnmin) are achieved using this approach.
