Boosting Optical Magnetism with Symmetry Breaking in a Subwavelength Plasmonic Metamolecule

Abstract

We theoretically and experimentally show that, by introducing controlled structural asymmetries in a subwavelength plasmonic metamolecule, we may trigger a near-field interference between plasmon modes that can efficiently boost magnetic response in the visible range.
