Phase-Locked Second Harmonic Generation in Thin Films with Near-Zero Permittivity

Abstract

Nonlinear processes are enhanced enormously in slabs of materials exhibiting resonant plasma features. We show the importance of phase-locked harmonic components in scenarios where absorption at the harmonic frequency is not negligible.
