Propulsion and Trapping of Chains of Microspheres by an Optical Nanofiber Integrated into an Optical Tweezers

Abstract

We demonstrate propulsion and trapping of microspheres by an optical nanofiber. We integrate nanofibers in multitrap optical tweezers and microfluidics, enabling force and fiber size measurements, and control of trapping arrangement.
