Abstract
Techniques for suppressing stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) in high-power fiber amplifiers are reviewed with an emphasis on acoustically engineered fibers. Topics range from the physics of Brillouin scattering to advanced fiber designs for SBS suppression.
