Novel Optical Active Filters using Injection Locked Slotted Fabry-Pérot Semiconductor Lasers

Abstract

Investigation into tunable optical active filters using slotted Fabry-Pérot semiconductor lasers is described. A wavelength selectivity of 10GHz with a suppression in excess of 20dB between filtered and unfiltered wavelengths is demonstrated.
