Optical Vortex Pair Creation using a Continuous Face-sheet Deformable Mirror

Abstract

We demonstrate the formation of optical vortex pairs using a continuous, face-sheet deformable mirror. This is a novel approach to creating photons with orbital angular momentum. These pairs are resistant to decoherence from turbulence.
