Plasmonic Modulator via Interfacing Between a Metallic Layer and an Electro-optic Material

Abstract

A plasmonic modulator is proposed and demonstrated based on interfacing between a metallic layer and a dielectric electro-optic material. The modulator consists of a segregated coupling-in and coupling-out gratings and a limited aperture detector.
