Advanced Optical Fibers and Their Applications in Fiber Lasers

Abstract

Unlike conventional fibers, all-solid photonic bandgap fibers are guided by anti-resonance of a 2D cladding photonic lattice, providing significant opportunity for mode area scaling while providing substantial higher-order-mode suppression. Our recent study will be reviewed.
