Self-similar pulses in coherent resonant absorbers

Abstract

We discover and theoretically describe several classes of ultrashort fully and partially coherent self-similar pulses propagating in homogeneously broadened coherent linear absorbers near optical resonance. We also describe salient properties of the new pulses.
