Measurement Range Elongation of Brillouin Fiber Sensor Using Optical Frequency Comb

Abstract

We propose employment of an optical frequency comb as a lightsource for measurement range elongation of distributed Brillouin sensors. The Brillouin frequency shift along a 100-km-long fiber with 20-meter resolution is realized in BOTDA scheme.
