Suppression of Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) by Extraction During Pumping (EDP) in the Large Aperture Multi-Pass Amplifiers

Abstract

We demonstrate the existence of the severe losses due ASE and ability EDP technique to suppress it and parasitic lasing. The optimal conditions that can deliver up to kJ level energy with existing technology are presented.
