Towards metamaterials with engineered nonlinear optical properties

Abstract

Nanostructures with improved quality allow the nonlinear response of arrays of metal nanoparticles to be optimized. Minute differences in the particle ordering strongly affect the second-order response of the arrays through long-range diffractive coupling.
