Near Threshold Optomechanical Backaction Amplifier

Abstract

We demonstrate a near threshold optomechanical backaction amplifier, where optical amplification is achieved via dynamical radiation pressure effects. Amplification as large as 22 dB is observed with an input power of only 12 µW.
