Abstract

Photons from spontaneous downconversion may be simultaneously entangled in multiple degrees of freedom (“hyperentangled”), enabling new capabilities in quantum communication and metrology. We present one example—remote preparation of entangled polarization/spatial-mode states—and discuss possible applications.
