Liquid Crystal Assisted slow light propagation in Photonic Crystal and Device Application

Abstract

We propose an elliptical air hole Silicon-on-Insulator photonic crystal waveguide based on liquid crystal infiltration for slow group velocity. It is also investigated for its application as an optical buffer and for time/wavelength division de-multiplexing.
