Beyond 100 Gb/s Transmission over Graded-Index Plastic Optical Fiber (GI-POF) Links

Abstract

We present a power-variable rate-adaptive LDPC-coded OFDM scheme, suitable for communication over GI-POF links. We demonstrate that the channel capacity can be closely approached with proposed scheme. We show that transmission at 100 Gb/s over 500 m of perfluorinated GI-POF links can be achieved with proposed scheme.
