End-of-Fiber Long-Period Fiber Grating-Based Sensors

Abstract

Carbon-dioxide-laser-induced long-period fiber gratings are fabricated near fiber end-faces and assessed for use as sensors. The effects of changing the surrounding refractive index are characterized. A solvent vapor sensor is fabricated and experimentally evaluated.
