Nonparaxial Polarization Vortex Illumination Described Using a 2×2 Correlation Matrix

Abstract

Vector fields in three dimensions generally require a 3×3 correlation matrix to describe (second-order) statistics of the field. We describe a class of nonparaxial fields that can be described using a two-dimensional correlation matrix.
