Elimination of Self-Pulsations in Dual-Clad Ytterbium-Doped Fiber Lasers

Abstract

High-power fiber lasers exhibit self-pulsations in some regimes of operation. The complete elimination of all self-pulsations is demonstrated by the addition of a long section of passive fiber in the laser cavity.
