Passive Focus Detection of Monochromatic Spatially Incoherent Sources

Abstract

We present a new passive focus detection method for monochromatic and spatially incoherent sources. Using a volume holographic interferometer, we detect the object’s axial position without using active illumination, additional cameras, or prior-information.
