Spectral and spatial modal control of two dimensional photonic crystal Bragg lasers

Abstract

We demonstrate electrically-pumped, edge-emitting, single-mode, large-area photonic crystal lasers with angled facets. We obtain the spectral and spatial modal control of the laser by designing the photonic crystal lattice and index contrast.
