Nonlinearity and Dispersion Characteristics of Bismuth-Based Highly Nonlinear Fiber

Abstract

Nonlinear coefficient and GVD of bismuth-based nonlinear fiber were determined. High nonlinearity γ~1100 W−1km−1 was obtained in step-index type bismuth-based fiber. Bismuth-based photonic crystal fiber was also developed to reduce GVD.
