Nonlinear effective susceptibility for a Kerr-Quadratic composite

Abstract

In this work, we report a closed expression for the effective nonlinear susceptibility of a layered composite structured by two materials of different nonlinearities: one of them is quadratic and the other cubic. The properties of such a composite are discussed for real nonlinear material.
