Abstract

We show that femtosecond shaped pulses can be used to detect coherent and stimulated Raman scattering in multi-scattering media. It is possible to perform Raman spectroscopy with such specially shaped pulses to determine vibrational frequencies and relaxation rates. The technique can be applied to spore detection and tissue microscopy.
