Nonlinear Optics in 1D Polymer Structures

Abstract

Nonlinear dielectric optical polymer structures that behave as 1D photonic crystals with some disorder are readily fabricated. These materials can perform useful optical functions: an intensity dependent nonlinear band gap is demonstrated.
