Infrared Filters Based on Photomodification of Semicontinuous Metal Films

Abstract

Broadband infrared long-pass filters were fabricated using semicontinuous silver films and subsequent photomodification with a pulsed CO2 laser operating at 10.6µm. This technique allows the creation of filters for wavelengths in the visible to mid-IR.
