Femtosecond Coherent Control of Two-Photon Absorption in Cesium

Abstract

Shaped, amplified pulses from a Ti:sapphire laser were used to excite two-photon transitions in atomic cesium. Both amplitude and phase shaping were used to coherently manipulate the two-photon absorption.
