Abstract

Raman spectroscopy is plagued by low signal. Shape-controlled gold nanorods with infrared plasmon resonances were used for enhancement of the Raman signal of aminothiophenol (p-MA), resulting in nonlinear characteristics and a maximum enhancement ~105/molecule.
