Benzocyclobutene Negative-Gap Micro-Ring Notch Filters

Abstract

We propose a novel coupling scheme between two waveguides, called “negative-gap”, and demonstrate this scheme in a benzocyclobutene micro-ring notch filter. Strong coupling and extinction of 28 dB at critical coupling were obtained.
