3D Imaging of Oxygen in Tissue by Diffuse Near Infra-Red Light

Abstract

Hypoxia in tissue can be imaged by combining phosphorescence quenching method with optical near infra-red tomography. We present a comprehensive theoretical treatment of the 3D oxygen image reconstruction problem and experimental validation of the technique.
