Abstract

In view of the current controversy relating to the optimum design of compact disks [1-3], we investigate the separation of co-phasal surfaces in electromagnetic waves in the neighborhood of the geometrical focus. The analysis indicates that the separation co-phasal surfaces of the electric field depends strongly on numerical aperture.
