Agile sensors for task-specific sensing

Abstract

Tailoring the parameters of a sensor to the task, environment, and object of interest is one approach to optimizing sensing performance. This paper describes some elements of sensor agility, suggests possible sensor architectures, and gives the status of some on-going developments.
