Abstract

Optical effects of UV light irradiation on vacuum-evaporated amorphous V2O5 films were investigated. Irradiation of 360 to 500nm UV light on the film (300nm thick) deposited on optical glass slide decreased visible transmittance by 4~5%, and absorption edge shifted slightly to UV side, suggesting an optical bandgap increase.
