Abstract

In the process of spontaneous parametric down conversion (SPDC), occasionally the coherent nonlinear interaction in a nonlinear material leads to the annihilation of one high frequency pump photon and the simultaneous creation of two photons (signal and idler) satisfying the phase matching conditions:
