Abstract

We develop novel biophotonic tomography for early-cancer and functional imaging by combining electromagnetic and ultrasonic waves synergistically. The hybrid modalities yield speckle-free electromagnetic contrast at ultrasonic resolution in large biological tissue and therefore overcome the resolution problem in optical imaging and the contrast and speckle problems in ultrasound imaging.
