Characteristics of waveguide-type lasers in a two-dimensional photonic crystal slab

Abstract

Various waveguide-type resonators in a two-dimensional photonic crystal slab are designed, fabricated and characterized. Since the resonant modes are similar to the photonic crystal waveguided modes, these resonators can be used to study the guiding properties of photonic crystal waveguides.
