Abstract

The fiber pupil slicer consists of a 7-lens array, 7-fiber bundle, and optics for output F-ratio transform. The fiber pupil slicer opens up possibility for opening the entrance aperture of the High Dispersion Spectrograph from 0.27 to 0.8 arcsec to attain resolving power as high as 150,000.
