Far-Infrared Absorption of Split Ring Resonators: negative permeability at infrared region

Abstract

Micron-meter-scale metallic slit-ring-resonator pattern is fabricated over a silicon substrate and has absorption at ~10.8 um by CO2 laser experiments. The result suggested a negative permeability appears in the sample.
