Abstract

Recently we reported a new modal theory of propagation-invariant optical fields characterized by the invariance of transverse cross-spectral density function in propagation direction [1]. Within the framework of this theory we have predicted the existance of the peculiar beams termed by us “light string beam” and “light capillary beam”.
